Poop, puke, and other nasty messes

Life without a husband sure is hard. I had a lot of grand plans of all of the things I would accomplish while Scott was in Iraq. You know the saying "Life is what happens while you are making other plans"?

The first day after he left, Madeline cut hers and Julianne's hair. Lovely... Spencer began this weird poop smearing thing and found a purple permanent marker to use on my new couches. I had to remove a GIANT palmetto bug from the living room and Isabelle puked right before bed.

We are now three weeks out since he left and it has been pretty much more of the same. More poop, puke and sundry disgusting things. Spencer is certainly a handful and, being a boy, he finds the most innovative ways to get in trouble. His favorite afternoon snack is cat litter with a clump of cat pee and poop on the side. We also had a bit of a puke fest this morning but it could just be that we are having the "Stand By Me" effect. (Remember the pie eating contest?)

I sit and wonder why Scott not being here makes such a difference in my day. He was usually gone all day working anyway. What would he do to ease this succession of nastiness? I don't know, but at least I wouldn't have to suffer alone! He could be just as grossed out and we could gag and retch together.

Other than that and the fact that the kids and I miss him terribly we are all doing fine. We have been staying busy and trying to have fun between all of the carpet and upholstery cleaning. I just hope Spencer grows out of this poop thing very quickly!

There is nothing like some feces and a little vomit to make you long for your husband!
